Lyndhurst School - Assessment at Lyndhurst
A constant check is kept on the progress of
each child and reports are sent to parents at the end of each term, with
a grade slip every half-term.
Teachers are, of course, assessing a child both formally and informally throughout the year. Spelling and reading ages are assessed each year and at other times if necessary.
Lyndhurst uses national objective tests to establish a baseline on entry and then in each subsequent year. These, with the other assessment and tests we do, give us full knowledge of the progress and achievement of each child.
A formal consultation evening for parents is arranged for each year group but we encourage parents to maintain contact with us through the form teacher and the pupil's homework diary on a regular basis.
An appointment to talk to one of the teachers or to the Headmaster can be made at any time.
