Visits
and Open Mornings
We like to meet our prospective pupils
consequently we try to make it as easy as possible for you to visit the
school as often as you need to. Prospective parents
and their children and other relatives including grandparents are very
welcome to visit the school. Visits can be arranged at any time
including during the school holidays, however we recommend visiting on a
normal school day during the term if possible to enable you to meet the
staff and pupils.
A typical visit will include a meeting at the
beginning and end of the visit with the Headmaster, a tour of the school
conducted by a student (including a tour of a boarding house and a
meeting with a housemaster or housemistress) and possibly lunch
(depending on timings) with a member of staff.
Tours can be tailored to meet individual interests and requirements and
meetings with specific members of staff can be booked in advance. So if
you have particular requirements please ask at the time of booking.
We also run a series of Open Mornings
throughout the year. Details of these are posted in a
separate section of the website accessible from the home page and
included in the Current Information for Applicants Booklet.

Please
note that the submission of the registration form together with the
appropriate fee do not guarantee the offer of a place or commit a family
to accepting the offer of a place. Registration
simply signals to the school admissions office that you wish to proceed
with arrangements for entry including the entrance examination.
It guarantees that you will automatically be contacted with
details of the entrance arrangements at the appropriate time and that we
will keep in touch by sending you information about open mornings and
other events that may be of interest.
Offers
of Places
Offers of places are generally made as soon as
the entrance examination results are known. Offers
are normally time sensitive and should be accepted by the deadline
stated in the offer letter as the school cannot keep the offer open
indefinitely. On acceptance of an offer parents must complete and return
the parent/school agreement.
On receipt of the signed parent/school
agreement we will send you joining instructions, uniform lists, medical
forms, details of our induction process for new pupils and a school
handbook. Details of travel arrangements are included
in the Current Information for Applicants booklet which forms part of
the prospectus and can be downloaded above. New
pupils wishing to use the school’s minibus services should contact the
Bursar’s Secretary T: 01759 321204 as soon as possible after accepting
an offer to book a place.
