David Byas"Sport plays a formative role in individual personal development.  All our students are encouraged to participate in sport whatever their aptitude and ability and gain the personal benefits necessary for success not just in sport but in other fields:  improved physical fitness, self-respect and confidence, team awareness and leadership, determination and commitment.

"We have excellent facilities and an enthusiastic and passionate coaching team who aim to ensure that each individual enjoys their chosen sport and plays it to their full potential.   The school also has active links with many local clubs, county organisations, local universities and national bodies. Regular programmes with external professional coaches provide specialist support to our staff and ensure that we adopt the most effective new ideas to improve our students’ training.

"Our pupils are taught how to play the traditional sports:  rugby, hockey, cricket for boys and hockey, netball and rounders for girls.  They are also encouraged to try a wide range of other sports including archery, athletics, horse riding, squash, swimming, tennis and trampolining.  A number of our best performers have achieved selection to regional and national teams."
