Shape the future bursary campaign

Giving young people a flying start

Our Shape the Future Bursary Campaign seeks to give more young people the opportunity to access a life changing education at Pocklington School. At the same time, this will ensure the School remains an open and diverse community with equality of opportunity to all - an aim both John Dolman and our most famous student, William Wilberforce, would surely heartily endorse.

Currently 3% of Pocklington School students receive means-tested bursary support. Our medium to long term ambition is to increase this to 10% - a considerable way towards helping families unable to afford the full fees.

For this, we need your help.

We are seeking to raise £10 million for the John Dolman Trust endowment fund in 10 years.  This could fund 20 day places every year from the local area, in perpetuity.

Plus we wish to raise £50,000 every year for the Annual Bursary Fund, which is used for immediate need.

Bursaries will be offered to students whose families cannot afford the full fees and are offered on a strictly means-tested basis.
