Pocklington School has a long tradition of supporting the Armed Forces, making it the perfect place for military families.
As a school, we have signed the Armed Forces Covenant which is a pledge to support the Armed Forces community and honour the covenant. As recognition for going above and beyond this pledge, we are proud to have been granted a Bronze Award in the Defence Employer Recognition Scheme, an indicator of our care and understanding of Armed Forces families and their needs.
We have many staff who have previously served in the Forces, meaning we understand first-hand what being on active service or on constant training deployments means for the whole family. Therefore, our dedicated pastoral and boarding teams work hard to provide reassurance and comfort during challenging times.
We also have a thriving Combined Cadet Force at School, which participates in a range of activities and trips such as fieldcraft training exercises for Army cadets, flying days for RAF cadets, and out of school events such as the local Remembrance Day Parade

First class IT facilities ensure easy communication with parents wherever they are, and we are very flexible about facilitating family visits or weekend breaks to fit around leave during term time.
Our excellent boarding houses are staffed by dedicated teams, who are highly trained, vocationally driven and constantly aim to mirror the kindness and patience that a parent would give, meaning our Forces children are given the very best care.

Pocklington school is accredited for the Forces Continuity of Education Allowance, which offers financial support for Armed Forces personnel who wish to send their children to boarding school. At Pocklington School, we are also pleased to offer an additional 10% discount for Ministry of Defence boarders, meaning that our outstanding education and kind, friendly community is highly accessible for Armed Forces families.
