Senior School | Pocklington School | Day & Boarding School In East Yorkshire

A love of learning, respect for others, the confidence to embrace challenges and an enthusiasm for the world beyond the classroom are among the hallmarks of a Pocklington School education

Welcome to our
Senior School

A very warm welcome to Pocklington School, where every member of our community at our inspiring Yorkshire country campus is known, valued and able to flourish.

The inclusive community here benefits from each individual’s contributions – whether they are quietly reflective or confidently expressive, sporty, academic, creative, or all of the above. We never underestimate the young person in front of us, but tap into their strengths so they can succeed.

Our proud history dates back to 1514, but importantly we are firmly focused on the future. At this exciting time in the School’s journey we are mindful that the world is changing at an accelerating rate, and carefully design our education to enable our pupils to be creators of the future, not just consumers.

Pocklington believes in balancing ambition carefully with wellbeing. Our pupils achieve excellent results, but importantly in a low-pressure environment where everyone has a strong sense of proportion – a greenhouse, not a hot house.

But don’t just take my word for it – come and see for yourselves!

- Becky Lovelock, Head of Pocklington School

Our ethos &
values

We are a day and boarding Christian foundation that is academic and inclusive and a family school whose togetherness, care for each other and pride in our community is evident in our outstanding pastoral provision. At the very heart of our ethos lie our Values and Virtues; they drive all that we do at Pocklington and mean our students leave with a strong sense of personal and social responsibility, along with the ability to shape their own future.

The Pocklington Values of Courage, Truth and Trust, along with the nine Virtues which underpin them, are embedded in every aspect of Pocklington School life to sustain, inspire and galvanise the whole School community.
