Pastoral Care

Pastoral Care – A supportive environment

Children in Pocklington Prep are based in form groups with form teachers who offer the very best in pastoral care. They develop close working relationships with you and your child and are responsible for good communication between home and school. Small class sizes allow all staff to get to know your child and ensure that every child is able to achieve their full potential.

On-site nurses and dedicated wrap-around care allow you to feel confident that your child is receiving the best support possible.

Every child at Pocklington Prep School becomes a member of one of the four houses and receives support and encouragement from other members of their team.

There are four houses at Pocklington Prep, named after Yorkshire abbeys Rievaulx, Jervaulx, Fountains or Byland. Each pupil belongs to a house with siblings belonging to the same house. Rewards are collected for the House Merit Shield, which is presented each half term. There are many other opportunities to represent the house both in sporting and non-sporting events.
