Here at Pocklington we take great pride and pleasure in supporting all of our learners reach their full potential.
Our team is led by the SENCo, Lisa Hutchinson PGCert SpLD (Dyslexia) AMBDA PATOSS NASENCO.
Within the learning support team we are fortunate to have three specialist dyslexia teachers who work with the Lower School pupils to improve their literacy skills and equip them for success in the classroom. Lower school pupils who need a little extra help with numbers can access our mathematics interventions. In addition, we support a range of other SEND within the school including (but not exclusively) ASC, dyscalculia, and ADHD.
As pupils progress through the school the support on offer from the learning support department broadens to enable pupils to get the very best out of their core GCSE subjects. For this, we utilise the skills of subject specialists, putting together packages of learning support from a range of subject areas.
For pupils with a specific learning difficulty we offer an alternative language pathway which allows for continued learning support whilst still studying a modern language.
If you would like to get in touch to discuss your child’s needs and find out how we can support their journey through Pocklington School please email Lisa Hutchinson (SENCo) at email@example.com.
