Continuing the culture of philanthropy on which it was founded over 500 years ago, the Pocklington School community consistently gives back to the School. 

Whether it’s offering work experience to a fellow former student, speaking at an event, or giving a regular gift to support our bursary fund, we are fortunate to be part of a community that actively helps each other.

How you can
support us

Working closely with pupils, teachers, current and former parents, the Old Pocklingtonian Association, Governors and Life Patrons, the Development Office aims to encourage long term, sustainable support for both new building projects and transformational bursaries, and other causes which enable Pocklington School to realise its vision and achieve its aims.

We also work in partnership with local schools, voluntary organisations and other charities through our school outreach, community action and our public benefit programmes.

Whether you are in further education, starting in the world of work, or already established in your career, Pock Connects is open to Old Pocklingtonians, parents past and present, staff and supporters, with the aim of sharing knowledge, expertise, and connections to help each other thrive in a highly competitive world.

Pocklington School is proud to work in partnership with local state primary and secondary schools to share good practice and knowledge.  Events throughout the year bring groups of young people, and their teachers together.

Many of the School’s events are open to the public throughout the year, and many of our staff and pupils volunteer locally and nationally. From pupils volunteering in local care homes, charity shops and primary schools, to staff members performing in music recitals and coaching local youth sports teams as well as undertaking trustee and school governor roles, our staff and pupils are proud to represent Pocklington School.

Supporting talented children to attend Pocklington School is central to our mission and ethos. Pocklington has a long tradition of providing bursarial support to families with limited means.

Your support is invaluable and opens the doors of Pocklington School to future generations. If you share our vision of making a difference through outstanding education, please consider making a gift, at any level, to our Shape the Future Bursary Fund. Your gift will be life changing.

Shape the Future Bursary Campaign

Some members of our wider community are at the stage in life when they begin to consider what their final legacy will be.  Once family and friends are appropriately remembered, thoughts often turn to charities and institutions which figure prominently in a person’s life.

You can support the Shape the Future Legacy campaign by letting us know you have included Pocklington School in your Will. If you are happy to do this, we will invite you to become a member of our legacy society, the 1514 Club.

Shape the Future Legacy Campaign

When you choose to make an unrestricted gift, the donation will be directed to the area of greatest need.  The donation might be used for the Shape the Future bursary fund, capital projects or other smaller projects that are currently prioritised in the School’s strategic plan.

From time to time a major project is identified which requires dedicated fundraising. Recent projects have included the Art and Design Technology Centre, the Archive Room and the Tom Stoppard Theatre.
