Combined Cadet Force at Pocklington School recognised for its positive impact
Pocklington School is celebrating the continued success and positive impact of its Combined Cadet Force (CCF), following an excellent recent inspection and a series of community events that have showcased the outstanding contribution made by its cadets.

The inspection recognised the strength of the School's CCF programme and the commitment shown by both staff and pupils. Through a wide range of activities, pupils build confidence, develop leadership skills and learn the value of teamwork, responsibility and service.
Most recently, Pocklington School cadets played an important role in a number of remembrance events across the local community. They took part in commemorative services in Pocklington, Barmby Moor and the surrounding area, honouring those who lost their lives during the Second World War alongside veterans, local residents and relatives of those remembered.
Their involvement was praised by organisers and members of the local community, who commended the cadets for the maturity, confidence and professionalism they displayed. The events also highlighted the international nature of the School community, with a number of international boarders taking part in the commemorations alongside their fellow cadets.
Becky Lovelock, Head of Pocklington School, said:
“The Combined Cadet Force offers pupils experiences that simply can’t be replicated in the classroom. It encourages them to step outside their comfort zone, work together, take responsibility and develop confidence through challenge. We are proud of the opportunities it provides and of the positive impact it has on so many of our young people.”
Through these experiences, pupils develop skills, values and a sense of responsibility that extend well beyond their time at School.
