Since Fourth Year, Molly has been a dedicated member of the Combined Cadet Force (CCF) at Pocklington School and currently holds the rank of Cadet Colour Sargeant. It was this experience that inspired her to run the London Marathon in support of the SSAFA.

Speaking to SSAFA about her motivation for taking part, Molly said:

The staff in the CCF have done so much for me and I wanted to find a way to give something back. Running a marathon has been a goal of mine for several years, so when I realised the London Marathon would take place on my 18th birthday, it felt like the perfect opportunity - especially to support a charity like SSAFA."

Reflecting on the marathon experience, Molly added:

“It felt really good for the most part, the energy of the crowd and other runners was fantastic and I felt really proud of myself when I crossed the finish line. It was also really important to me because I ran it for SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity who help veterans and service members. I wanted to do something to help after being in the Cadets for the last four years and I managed to raise almost £3,000.  Overall, the experience was incredible and I’d encourage anyone who wanted to try and take part to go for it, because it’s an experience that I will never forget.”
