Humberside Schools Cross Country Championships

A huge congratulations to our outstanding team of runners who proudly represented Pocklington School at the Humberside Schools Cross Country Championships in Scunthorpe on Tuesday 20 February. Competing against some of the strongest young athletes in the region, our pupils demonstrated exceptional determination, resilience and team spirit across a challenging course.

We were especially proud of the following top 25 finishes:
1st Year – Lilly: 3rd (Bronze Medal)
1st Year – Annabel: 5th
1st Year – Cecily: 6th
1st Year – Elsie: 8th

These four athletes, alongside their First Year teammates, were also crowned Humberside Schools Year 7 Girls Team Champions – an outstanding achievement.
Additional strong performances included:
2nd Year – Anna: 21st
3rd Year – Lizzie: 22nd
4th Year – Beth: 10th (Reserve place for the National Final)
4th Year – Imogen: 14th
4th Year – Emily: 25th
1st Year – Stanley: 9th
1st Year – Oliver: 16th

National Schools Cross Country Final – Liverpool, 14 March
We are delighted to announce that the following athletes have qualified for the National Schools Cross Country Final in Liverpool:
Lower Sixth – Isobel: 2nd (Silver Medal)
Upper Sixth – Imogen: 1st (Gold Medal)
Upper Sixth – Molly: medal position
3rd Year – Cameron: 6th
Lower Sixth – Isaac: 6th

This is a tremendous achievement, and we wish them every success as they prepare to compete on the national stage.
A huge well done to every runner involved. Your commitment, performances and attitude have made the entire school community incredibly proud. We look forward to cheering on our national finalists as they take on their next challenge.
