Pocklington School tennis players celebrate national championship success
Pocklington School tennis players enjoyed an impressive run of success at the Independent Schools Tennis Association (ISTA) National School Championships at Eton College earlier this summer, with strong performances across several age groups and a national final appearance.
The standout achievement came from U15 Girls' first pair Scarlett R and Olivia U, who produced a fantastic run of results to reach the National Plate Final.

Facing Marlborough College in the final, Scarlett and Olivia finished as national runners-up following a closely contested 6-2, 7-5 match. Their achievement also saw Pocklington become the last Northern school remaining in the U15 competition.
There was further success for the U19 Boys team of Henry C, Cam H, Joe S and Eric L, who reached the Semi-Finals of the Plate following victories over Pangbourne College, New Hall School and Rugby School.

Their impressive run came to an end against Whitgift School in a closely fought semi-final, with two matches decided by Championship tie-breaks.
Pocklington's U19 Girls, U15 Boys and U13 Boys also competed strongly throughout the championships. The U19 Girls secured wins over Trinity and Cranleigh, while the U13 Boys' first pair recorded victories against Yarm, RGS Newcastle and Dame Allan's, narrowly missing out on a place in the Plate Quarter-Finals by just two games.

The performances rounded off another successful season for tennis at Pocklington School, with pupils regularly achieving success at local, regional and national level.
