New outdoor learning environment coming soon to our Early Years pupils

Children at Pocklington School are set to benefit from an exciting new outdoor learning and play environment designed to encourage curiosity and exploration.

The new Early Years outdoor area has been specially created to support children’s development through imaginative play, physical activity and hands-on learning. The space includes a range of engaging features to help children build confidence and develop key skills.

The development forms part of the School’s continued investment in facilities and enriching experiences for its youngest pupils.

Head of Prep School, Suzy Ward, said:

"Outdoor learning plays such an important role in children’s development, particularly in the early years. We are delighted to be able to provide a space that encourages imagination, creativity and exploration, while also supporting physical development and wellbeing. The new environment has been thoughtfully designed to create opportunities for discovery, independence and collaborative play, and we are incredibly excited for our pupils to enjoy it.”

The outdoor area will include dedicated zones for imaginative play, sensory exploration, climbing, construction and quiet reflection, helping to create a stimulating and nurturing environment for children to learn and grow.

The project has been delivered in partnership with Timotay Playscapes, specialists in educational outdoor play spaces.
