U13 rugby team go unbeaten at the Rosslyn Park National Schools Sevens
Fresh from winning the plate, the Pocklington School Under 13 rugby sevens squad travelled to compete in the Rosslyn Park U13 Preparatory National Sevens. The tournament, the world’s largest school rugby event, brings together hundreds of schools from across the UK and beyond.

The U13 tournament takes the form of a one-day waterfall format, with school’s playing four games against opposition from across the UK. This marked the first time that Pocklington School has taken an U13 team to the tournament and provided a valuable opportunity for younger pupils to experience the format of this prestigious competition.
The squad entered the day full of confidence and produced strong performances against St John’s School, Northwood and Hoe Bridge School.. They remained patient, disciplined and attacking when the gaps opened.
The final two matches presented tough opposition from larger schools, but the team maintained their high standards and played some excellent rugby against both Bryanston School and Christ College.
The squad secured impressive victories in both fixtures, making them the first Pocklington School side to win all their group matches in over 10 years.
Their coach, PE teacher Charlie Lambert, said:
"They have been a credit to the school across the rugby season and I have been proud to be their coach."
