Beautiful submissions into National Science Week photography competition | Pocklington School | Day & Boarding School In East Yorkshire

As part of the Biology Department’s celebration of National Science Week, the school community was invited to participate in this year’s Nature Photography Competition.

Beautiful submissions into National Science Week photography competition

The competition attracted an impressive 117 entries from over 60 participants spanning pupils, staff and Old Pocklingtonians. As with last year, the standard of submissions was exceptionally high across the school generating heated debates amongst pupils trying to choose a favourite.

The photographs were incredibly diverse, ranging from moody Yorkshire skies to tropical beaches. Pupils employed various methods, from drone photography capturing tree canopies to close-up images of spiders.

We were fortunate to have Alex and Connor from Pocklington Camera Club, fresh from judging the club’s annual competition, to choose our winners for us. Alex and Connor provided valuable feedback for our pupils, suggesting ways that they could enhance their photographs with further finessing and editing. They encouraged all participants to continue honing their photography skills and to keep capturing beautiful images for next year’s competition.

Thank you to everyone who entered.
